Cuando (when) you go to Andalucía, you will meet some people and you will have to introduce yourself, y you will also want to know their stories.
Por ejemplo, if you siempre go to the same bakery, it would be great if you ask the baker for his name, and greet him by his or her name every morning, don’t you think? For him or her surely would!
Ahora (Now) you are only going to learn how to say tu nombre y tu edad (your name and age), so that we can introduce ourselves to each other.
The following module will be devoted entirely to introductions and how we can fill out a form when we arrive at a hotel, an airport or anywhere we need to give our information.
Since you have already learned the numbers, you can say your age without problems, whenever you want, of course. You can also lie about it, no problem 😜
These are two very simple phrases that you will learn quickly:
- (Yo) me llamo Elena
- (Yo) tengo cuarenta y tres años
¡ATENCIÓN!
Attention because in Spanish it is not mandatory to say the subject (in this case, "YO" )
In this way, we could say:
“Me llamo Elena y tengo cuarenta y tres años”
Translated literally, these phrases would be like this:
Nombre (name) = Yo me llamo Elena = I call myself Elena (the verb is “llamar” = to call, and me= myself)
Edad (age) = Yo tengo cuarenta y tres años = I have 43 years (verbo “tener“= to have)
That’s it, you just have to learn this two phrases for the moment. Write this phrases en tu cuaderno (in your notebook) with your name and age a couple of times and say it loud.
Ahora (now) you know how to say your nombre (name) and your edad (age).
